Cake Genie was established in 1990 by Julie Orton who is the founder and sole proprietor. After attending evening classes in cake decoration she went on to study at Fareham College and completed a two year City & Guilds course in Creative Design and Sugarcraft.
Julie also gained a City & Guilds, Adult Education Teaching Certificate and taught at Felpham Community College Adult Education Centre. Julie now teaches the PME Diploma courses as well as day and evening courses in all subjects. Chocolate workshops are available throughout the year.
She has attended courses in Hygiene and food and safety seminars organised by Arun District Council. Julie trained with the UK Chocolatier Master Mark Tilling and many other top chefs at Callebaut UK.
Julie is an Accredited Demonstrator/assessor/trainer for British Sugarcraft Guild and an Approved PME Diploma Tutor.

Chocolate Demonstration Day
Come along and enjoy a few hours of techniques and tasting. Learn how to make ganache and fill a sponge cake, cover with chocolate glaze for a high shine. Many uses for chocolate transfers. I will be making a pink fairytale castle. Filled chocolates ready for christmas and tree decorations. I will also show you how to temper chocolate, the easy way and make chocolate modelling paste. Transfer sheets for sugarpaste and chocolate available to buy on day.
Cost £50.00 this includes
PME electric chocolate melting pot, three melting pans
and two chocolate moulds.
Tea/coffee/hot chocolate and of course chocolate cake.

Fees for 2015 will include all equipment. You only need to supply ingredients for the the cakes on the Sugarpaste Course. Everything else is supplied in the Fee. Only 5 students per class.
